Seongsu combines former factory streets, cafés and independent retail with the paths and gardens of Seoul Forest (서울숲). Seongsu hotels suit a stay that divides time between the park and the neighborhood, but the address matters: the Seoul Forest side, central Seongsu and the Kondae edge are different bases. This guide compares five places to stay, with the two eastern alternatives clearly separated from the park-side options.
Choose Your Side of Seongsu
Seoul Forest opened in 2005 at 273 Ttukseom-ro in Seongdong-gu. Its lawns, gardens and ecological areas give this part of Seoul a different daily rhythm from a stay built entirely around shopping streets. For a trip centered on repeat visits to the park, begin with the Seoul Forest and Ttukseom side rather than treating every hotel with Seongsu in its name as a park-side address.
Farther into Seongsu, former factories and shoe workshops share streets with cafés, shops and cultural spaces. Yeonmujang-gil is a useful reference for this industrial-and-retail side of the neighborhood. A stay here makes sense when cafés and store visits are as important as time in the park; it does not mean your room overlooks Seoul Forest.
The shortlist also includes two alternatives on the eastern Seongsu–Kondae edge: Konkuk University Stay On on Gwangnaru-ro 9ga-gil and Hotel The Designers Premier on Dongil-ro. They broaden the choice without being described as Seoul Forest hotels at the park entrance. Choose these addresses deliberately, not because a Seongsu label implies the same location as Wangsimni-ro.

Getting to Seongsu and Seoul Forest
Ttukseom Station on Subway Line 2 and Seoul Forest Station on the Suin-Bundang Line serve the park side. For Seoul Forest itself, use Ttukseom Exit 8 or Seoul Forest Exits 3 and 4. These are park access points, not a promise that the same exit is the right one for every hotel. Match the final exit and walking route to the accommodation’s street address.
Seongsu Station on Line 2 is the reference point for the café and retail streets around Yeonmujang-gil. The Designers Premier at Hwayang Intersection instead identifies Children’s Grand Park Station on Line 7 as its subway approach. That distinction matters when comparing the central Seongsu properties with the two Kondae-edge alternatives below.
From Incheon Airport, take the AREX All-Stop train to Hongik University and transfer to Line 2 for Ttukseom or Seongsu. The Express train is a different service and runs non-stop to Seoul Station, so it is not the train to take for a Hongik University transfer. From Gimpo Airport, the All-Stop service also provides access to the Line 2 interchange at Hongik University.
If your KTX arrives at Seoul Station, one subway route is Line 4 to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park, then Line 2 to Ttukseom or Seongsu. Use a current route planner for train direction and the final hotel approach, especially for the eastern alternatives. No single transfer route is the right arrival plan for all five addresses.

Seoul Forest, Cafés and Shopping Near Your Stay
Seoul Forest is more than a single lawn. Its cultural and arts spaces, ecological forest, learning gardens and riverside areas support different visits, from a short park walk to a longer afternoon outdoors. The ecological section includes deer, while the park’s paths and gardens offer an alternative to a day spent moving between shops.
General park admission is free. The park is open 24 hours, but this does not apply to every facility: the Eco-Forest, plant and insect garden, butterfly garden and visitor center have separate hours. Check the facility you want to visit rather than assuming that an evening park walk includes access to the gardens or indoor spaces.
For cafés and shopping, turn to Yeonmujang-gil and Seongsu-dong Cafe Street. The neighborhood’s older car repair shops, printing factories and handmade-shoe workshops remain part of the setting, alongside cafés, bakeries and retail spaces. Daerim Warehouse is one example of an old warehouse adapted for café and cultural use, retaining its red-brick structure and large interior.
Around Seongsu Station, the handmade-shoe streets add a different shopping layer to the cafés and changing brand pop-ups. Plan the neighborhood as a set of street visits rather than assuming one permanent attraction list. Pop-up programs and individual businesses change; confirm the store or café you intend to visit before building the day around it.

Five Seongsu Hotels and Eastern Alternatives
Start with the address, then compare the room and facilities. The first three locations represented here are within Seongsu-dong; the Stay On and Hwayang Intersection options are eastern alternatives rather than park-entrance stays. Guest scores below are historical figures, not live ratings; the data date is stated in Sources.
1. Seoul Forest Stay

Guest rating: 8.9/10 from 2,039 verified reviews.
Seoul Forest Stay places the park-side option on Wangsimni-ro, with Ttukseom and Seoul Forest stations as its local rail references. Free Wi-Fi and luggage storage are included among its facilities, useful details when comparing a short park-focused stay with a larger hotel. Its address on the second floor of 108-1 Wangsimni-ro is the one to check for arrival, rather than the broader Seongsu name alone.

2. Parvus Sella Seongsu

Guest rating: 8.5/10 from 184 verified reviews.
At 15-1 Seongsuil-ro 12-gil, Parvus Sella Seongsu offers a different Seongsu-dong address from the Wangsimni-ro park-side option. Free Wi-Fi is listed, while its smaller review sample should be considered alongside the properties with thousands of reviews. Compare the actual room type and street location before choosing it for a trip centered on daily park visits.

3. Konkuk University Stay On

Guest rating: 9.5/10 from 193 verified reviews.
Konkuk University Stay On is at 24 Gwangnaru-ro 9ga-gil, on the eastern side of the Seongsu choice rather than at the Seoul Forest entrance. It includes free Wi-Fi, and its high guest score comes from a smaller review sample than Seoul Forest Stay or Hotel POCO. Consider this address if the eastern area fits your plans, not as a substitute for a verified park-side walking route.

4. Hotel POCO Seongsu

Guest rating: 8.2/10 from 2,830 verified reviews.
Hotel POCO Seongsu stands at 96 Seongsui-ro, giving it a central Seongsu-dong address rather than the Wangsimni-ro park-side location. Free Wi-Fi is one of its listed amenities, and its review sample is the largest of the five options in this guide. Compare it when café and retail streets are part of the stay as well as Seoul Forest, without assuming that every room has a park view.

5. Hotel The Designers Premier Seongsu & Kondae (Hwayang Intersection)

Guest rating: 7.5/10 from 748 verified reviews.
Hotel The Designers Premier Seongsu & Kondae (Hwayang Intersection) is at 172 Dongil-ro in Gwangjin-gu, outside the park-side Seongsu cluster. Family-room options and luggage storage are listed, but the location should be treated as a Hwayang–Kondae alternative with a Children’s Grand Park Station approach. Its lower guest score makes the room details and recent feedback particularly important to compare before booking.

How to Choose the Right Stay
For a park-centered itinerary, compare Seoul Forest Stay first because its Wangsimni-ro address belongs to the Seoul Forest and Ttukseom side. If the trip gives equal weight to cafés and shopping, look at the street locations of Parvus Sella Seongsu and Hotel POCO Seongsu as well. These choices are about different parts of the neighborhood, not a claim that one property is universally better.
Konkuk University Stay On and The Designers Premier serve a different location decision. Their eastern addresses can be relevant when that side of the city is part of your itinerary, but choosing either means checking the journey to Seoul Forest separately. A higher guest score does not move an accommodation closer to the park.
Family-room listings at Seoul Forest Stay and The Designers Premier provide a starting point for group travel, not a confirmed occupancy allowance. Check the room’s bed arrangement, maximum guests, bathroom details and cancellation terms for your dates. Likewise, luggage storage listed as an amenity does not establish the hours when it is available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which area should I choose for a Seoul Forest stay?
Use the Seoul Forest and Ttukseom side as your starting point if the park is the main reason for staying in this part of Seoul. Seoul Forest Stay is the Wangsimni-ro option in this shortlist. Parvus Sella and Hotel POCO have other Seongsu-dong addresses, while the Stay On and Hwayang Intersection options are farther east.
Which subway station serves Seoul Forest?
Seoul Forest Station is on the Suin-Bundang Line, and Ttukseom Station is on Line 2. For the park, the listed access points are Seoul Forest Exits 3 and 4 and Ttukseom Exit 8. Check your hotel address separately before selecting an exit with luggage.
Is Seoul Forest free to enter?
Yes, general park admission is free. The park’s 24-hour opening does not mean every garden or visitor facility stays open all night. Check the operating hours of the specific area you plan to visit.
Are all five hotels beside Seoul Forest?
No. This guide includes central Seongsu addresses and two clearly labeled eastern alternatives. The Designers Premier at Hwayang Intersection is in Gwangjin-gu, and Stay On is on Gwangnaru-ro 9ga-gil; neither is presented here as a park-entrance hotel.
