Lotte Mart Seoul Station Shopping Guide

October 22, 2026|by TripKorea Team

Lotte Mart Seoul Station combines supermarket shopping with specialist stores at the railway hub. Its current name is Lotte Mart Zettaplex Seoul Station (롯데마트 제타플렉스 서울역점), and its shopping directory covers 2F and 3F. This guide explains how to find the branch, choose where to browse and handle checkout without turning a rail connection into a rushed shopping trip.

The useful distinction is between the mart, its individual shops and the nearby Lotte Outlets. Decide which shopping space you need before setting out, particularly if you are carrying luggage or have a train to catch.

Finding Lotte Mart Seoul Station

Use the full Korean branch name when searching a map. The mart's address is 405, Hangang-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul (서울특별시 중구 한강대로 405). The branch telephone is +82-2-390-2500; its help-center number is +82-2-390-2502.

Seoul Station on subway Lines 1 and 4 is the station reference, with Exit 1 listed for the branch. Treat that as an orientation point rather than a complete route from every rail platform. Once you reach the station area, look for the mart's own ZETTAPLEX entrance signs, not simply the first Lotte sign you see.

Lotte Outlets is a separate shopping operation. Its floor directory, service counters and opening schedule should not be used to navigate the mart. Similarly, an entrance photograph or map of the historic station building is not an entrance guide to the supermarket.

Daytime roads, crossings and station-area buildings around Seoul Station, providing context for a Lotte Mart shopping visit

A visit before or after a rail journey is a planning choice, not a guaranteed transfer activity. Set your return-to-station deadline first, then leave room for finding the store, browsing, payment, collecting any stored bags and returning to your departure area. If that leaves little flexibility, choose a separate shopping visit instead.

Opening Hours and Closure Checks

The branch opens at 10:00. Closing time needs particular attention: the Korean branch guide lists 24:00, while Lotte's international store locator lists 23:00. Confirm directly with the branch before making a late-night journey; do not plan purchases around the final hour.

  • Regular closures: the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
  • October schedule checked on October 22, 2026: both operator versions list October 14 and October 28 as closure dates.
  • Holiday visits: check the branch's current calendar rather than assuming a holiday follows the usual weekly pattern.

Individual shops have their own schedules. The mart remaining open does not mean every concession, specialist store or assistance counter is available. If one shop is your main reason for visiting, check that shop's hours as well as the building's.

For a visit later than this October schedule, reopen the current branch calendar rather than reusing the dates above. The second-and-fourth-Wednesday pattern is useful for initial planning, but the displayed monthly closure notice should be part of your final check.

Choosing Your Shopping Area

This is a hypermarket selling fresh food, daily necessities and fashion items, with additional specialist shops. Choose your shopping area to match your purpose: a supermarket visit and a visit to a particular tenant are not interchangeable. You do not need to cover every department to make use of the location.

Supermarket browsing and the 2F–3F directory

The branch directory uses 2F and 3F, so do not search for a basement supermarket on the strength of an unrelated shopping guide. Use the on-site directory to locate the department you need rather than treating the two levels as one undifferentiated shopping floor.

Fresh food and everyday supplies suit a different shopping purpose from goods you intend to take home. Before filling a basket, decide whether you are shopping for your stay in Seoul or for onward travel. That choice also affects whether a tax-refund question is relevant at checkout.

If your purpose is a specific department, ask for its location before working through the full store. Keep the Korean branch name available on your phone alongside any shop name; it helps distinguish this location from other Zettaplex branches and the adjacent outlet.

Specialist shops on 3F

Two separately identifiable stops are MUJI's Seoul Station branch (무인양품 롯데마트 서울역점), a general lifestyle retailer, and Bottle Bunker Seoul Station (보틀벙커 서울역점), a specialist drinks retailer. Both are on 3F. They are optional destinations within the shopping visit, not a list of products you need to buy.

MUJI's branch-directory hours are 10:00–21:30. Bottle Bunker's operator listing gives 10:00–22:00. These separate closing times are a practical reason to visit your chosen specialist shop before relying on the mart's later schedule. Check their current notices for the day you intend to visit.

For a supermarket-only stop, there is no need to add these shops. If you are interested in lifestyle retail or specialist drinks browsing, make that an intentional extension and preserve time for its own checkout arrangements rather than assuming every purchase follows the same payment process.

Checkout and Tax Refunds

The branch supports “Immediate tax refund / Claim for refund”. Bring your passport if you intend to request a refund, and raise the question before completing payment. Eligibility depends on the purchaser and purchase; the store's participation is not a promise that every item in your basket qualifies.

Lotte's self-checkout instructions distinguish two options. For an immediate refund, scan the items, select “Immediate Tax Refund”, scan your passport and follow the amount shown before paying. At a cashier-assisted checkout, follow the cashier's instructions instead of assuming the same screen sequence applies.

The alternative “Post-Refund” option leaves the store payment unchanged. Retain the tax-refund receipt for the departure-terminal process. Keep your passport and purchased goods available as well: customs may ask to inspect them. The countertop photograph illustrates refund signage, not the present location or opening hours of a service desk.

Do not choose goods on the assumption of a fixed refund percentage, and do not confuse a refund receipt with a completed refund. Before leaving, check which route was applied to your transaction and keep the relevant documents together. Ask for clarification while you are still at the checkout if the result is unclear.

Luggage, Shipping and Your Departure Plan

Locker services and EMS international delivery are listed for the branch, but arrange the details before relying on either. Ask about storage availability, charges, bag-size limits and collection arrangements when you arrive. A service listing is not a reservation for your suitcase.

If you intend to ship purchases, check the shipping counter's operating hours and whether your destination and goods are accepted before buying on that basis. EMS international delivery is not the same as a transfer of your suitcase to a hotel or airport. Do not build your departure plan around an unconfirmed delivery arrangement.

Confirm any packing arrangements separately. Plan how you will carry your purchases back to the station rather than assuming that boxes, wrapping materials or staff packing are included. Keep receipts accessible until checkout and any service questions have been resolved.

For this branch, the sensible sequence is to check the day's schedule, settle luggage arrangements, visit your chosen shopping areas, complete payment and refund instructions, then collect belongings before returning for your journey. If timing is tight, shorten the shopping plan rather than depending on an unverified shortcut or last-minute service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the mart the same as Lotte Outlets?

No. The mart and outlet are separate shopping operations. Use the Zettaplex Seoul Station branch name and the mart's own directory rather than transferring outlet floors, counters or schedules to your supermarket visit.

Does the mart close at 23:00 or midnight?

The official pages disagree: the international locator lists 23:00 and the Korean branch guide lists midnight. Both give a 10:00 opening. Confirm with the branch before planning a late-night visit.

Is it closed every Wednesday?

No. The regular pattern is the second and fourth Wednesdays, not every Wednesday. Check the current monthly calendar and any holiday notice before travelling.

Can international visitors receive a tax refund?

The branch lists immediate refund and refund-claim options. Bring your passport and check eligibility at checkout before paying. Do not assume that every grocery or specialist-shop purchase qualifies.

Can I leave luggage or send purchases overseas?

Locker services and EMS international delivery are listed, but confirm the current arrangements with the branch. Ask about bag acceptance, collection times and shipping conditions before relying on the services. Do not assume free storage or that every destination and product is accepted.

Plan the Rest of Your Seoul Visit

Keep your Lotte Mart Seoul Station visit separate from any fixed departure deadline. For other plans in the city, browse things to do in Seoul; choose an activity that fits your remaining schedule rather than adding another stop by default.
